Vision and Objectives

Our Vision:

Life for Africa has the vision of creating a "Silicon Valley" in Ghana. We have secured hundreds of acres of land dedicated for a technology park. The African Technology Conference is the vehicle we use to showcase the planning and development of this park. This first conference is dedicated to developing a strategy for successfully building this world-class technology park now, as we plan to "build technology for future generations".

Our Objectives:

• To create a dialogue and explore several avenues for successfully enhancing the Ghanaian technology and educational infrastructure, and for business development.

• To create networking opportunities between corporate technology professionals, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, academicians, students, and government policy makers, including Africans in the Diaspora.

• To brainstorm options for successfully creating a world-class technology center in Ghana, The Drolor Technology Park, with plans to replicate its success in sub-Saharan Africa.

Our Focus:

We believe there are four key factors that will contribute to a successful world-class technology park. They are:

• Outstanding educational infrastructures

• Technology infrastructures

• Business and government policies

• Entrepreneurship

As a result, we have structured the conference around panels that focus on each of these key subjects.

For each of these panels, discussions will ensue regarding where Ghana is and where it needs to be to become a world-class technology leader. In addition, each full day of the conference will end with brainstorming sessions to discuss how Ghana can reach where it needs to be in each of these focus areas. The outcome of the sessions will be a high-level strategy and roadmap for building this successful technology park.
